William Carl Acord's Page

 I moved to Muskogee from Ada in 1962 and spent my 8th and 9th grade years at West Junior High School.  I then spent my sophomore year at "Ol Central" before we moved to Tulsa.  Yet my 3 years in Muskogee are among the most memorable....I cultivated many friendships while there.  My most enjoyable times were playing in the band at Central under the direction of Mr. Lowell Lehman.  I graduated from Tulsa Memorial H.S. in 1967, then received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Northeastern in Tahlequah and my Master of Science in Microbiology from the University of Houston.  I worked as a microbiologist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Veterinary Services for 30 years before retiring in 2006.  During that time I lived in Ames, Iowa and Oklahoma City, before finally meeting my soulmate, Kathleen (King) Acord and moving to St. Louis, MO where we presently live.   I am a true "Okie From Muskogee," having been born there and having spent the first 3 years of my childhood before my father's employment took us to Ada where we lived until moving back to Muskogee in 1962.
