Suzanne Catherine Acree

Suzanne Catherine Acree, 66, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Friday, October 9, 2015. She was born July 7, 1949 to August and Anselma Fabian in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Suzanne married Charles Raymond Acree on June 23, 2012 at Timothy Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They shared a love for traveling and visited many beautiful places such as Colorado, Wyoming, Alabama, South Dakota, and Arkansas.

Her grade school years were spent at Tony Goetz, Pershing, and Sacred Heart Elementary. She also attended West Junior High and graduated from Muskogee High School in 1967. She received her Master’s Degree from Northeastern State University. Suzanne worked as a teacher at Porter Public School and Hilldale Middle School from which she retired in 2000. She will always be remembered for her love of teaching and helping kids. She later worked at Mobility Plus and retired from there in 2015.

Suzanne loved to garden but her ultimate passion was visiting, playing with, and loving on her grandchildren. She also enjoyed listening to live music, especially her cousin, John Fabian who played with Blue Fish. John would invite Suzanne to come up on stage with him and play the tambourine. He dedicated his most recent CD to her and she was so proud.

Suzanne was loved by many people and will be forever missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, August Matthew Fabian Jr; and her brother, Gordon Fabian.

Suzanne is survived by her husband, Charles Acree of the home; daughter, Natalie Walker and husband Frank of Anna, TX; son Randy Wicks of Muskogee, OK; mother, Anselma Fabian of Muskogee, OK; brothers, Fred Fabian and wife Deborah of Muskogee, OK, and Tommy Fabian of Muskogee, OK; sisters, Sandra Jones and husband Paul of Muskogee, OK and Deborah Moore of Gore, OK; grandchildren, Jaxon Wicks of Muskogee, OK, Lily and Morgan Walker of Anna, TX, step daughter, Melissa Rumsey and husband Carl and their children, Luke and Lauren Rumsey of Bixby, OK; step son, Matt Acree and wife Stephanie and their child William Charles Acree of Wellington, CO; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and many loving friends and students.

A celebration of Suzanne’s life will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 16, 2015 at Timothy Baptist Church with Rev. Kelly Payne officiating.
